There's a store on El Paseo called Zense. It's a high end handbag shop. She carries unique handbags, jewelry and some shoes. (Notice one of my husband's paintings on the wall.)
When my husband was working for a furniture store in Rancho Mirage (that has gone out of business) Zense was one of their clients. The owner of the store was looking for someone who could help her with the displays. I was nominated. It's my favorite job of all! (If you can call it a job...)
I look forward to merchandising & accessorizing the store 3-4 times a year. It's so much fun for me. The owner and I get along great too. We're always on the same page, thinking the very same thing. So that makes it fun.
If you ever get a chance, you should pop in to say hi and see her eclectic accessories.Sometimes she brings one of her dogs to the shop too.
I worked for Express for 4 years in the Seattle area. My favorite part was merchandising the store. If I had continued my career with them, I would have loved to be a regional or area merchandising manager. It's much easier to manage clothes than people! :)Last Christmas I was able to help do the windows at Escada. That was fun. Boy their mannequins are heavy! Quite the workout. Working there was a one-time thing though.
I have a passion for fashion - even though it isn't very obvious. While at BYU I studied Fashion Merchandising. My favorite thing to do was watch Elsa Klinsch on CNN. Isn't that why we watch CNN - for the fashion news? The other news can get rather depressing sometimes.

So now, instead of being a fashion merchandiser (which I was an assistant buyer for a *lame* department store in the Pacific Northwest for a while but that was the worst job ever) I make jewelry out of old game pieces! Who knew? I guess it's fashion related.

That is so cool. Of course it is all related - you have a great eye!
