Malaysia

There are so many things I need to blog about... our oldest being Student of the Month, Halloween, and, hmmm well that's 2 things. But right now I am doing a little research on Malaysia. So I thought I'd blog a little about that. The missionaries are coming over for dinner tonight and we're having Malaysian food. There have been 2 other countries that I haven't blogged about. Sorry.

Tonight we are having Satay Chicken (Malaysian style), rice, Kerabu Bee Hoon, BBQ Chicken Wings and stir fry veggies. Hope it turns out yummy. The chicken dishes will be yummy. They've been marinating in the fridge since last night.

My husband's parents went on a mission to Malaysia & Singapore about 8 years ago. Wish they could join us tonight, but they live in Portland.

Malaysia is in southeast Asia and is slightly larger than New Mexico.

Their weather is very tropical. There's about 25 million people who call Malaysia home.

That's almost as many people as live in California.

Most of the people are Malay with some Chinese and a few Indian. They are mostly Muslim with some Budhist and a few Christians.

There is so much information on Malaysia - too much to write about. There were also so many recipes to choose from. Seeing how I'm not the greatest cook, I chose the simpler recipes with ingredients I could find at Stater Brothers. I had a lot of fun reading this blog called Rasa Malasia. She has tons of recipes on there. It's where I found the recipes for Kerabu Bee Hoon and the Satay Chicken. She's pretty entertaining. And I think she lives in Monterey Park. I'm sure she has a great Asian food store there. Better than here!!
